A family timeline

  1. Toribio Acaac born

    In Loay, Bohol. He would lead the family migration to Mindanao.

  2. The landing at Barra

    On the morning of May 3, 1870, the Loay migrants entered the mouth of the Daisog River and landed on its left bank.

  3. First Santacruzan

    A year after landing, Toribio presented a cross and the first Santacruzan was celebrated on the new land — starting an unbroken tradition.

  4. Cholera epidemic

    A cholera outbreak claimed many lives, including Toribio and his wife Rita. The land was later divided among their three sons.

  5. Division of the Acaac property

    By mutual agreement, the brothers Narciso, Januario, and Alejandro divided the land into three parts.

  6. Death of Narciso "Esok"

    The Acaac patriarch and keeper of the cross died at about 100 years of age, leaving a legacy of faith and unity.
