01 Loay, Bohol

The original home of the Acaac Family in Northern Mindanao was the island of Bohol, in the town of Loay.
02 Departure from Loay

Under cover of a dark, moonless night, Toribio Acaac and his wife Rita slipped out of Loay in a pilang, a sailboat designed to catch devil fish (salanga).
03 The sea crossing

Skirting the coast of Cebu, then the waters of Siquijor, and on to the Mindanao Sea — guided by the stars and favorable winds.
04 Barra, Daisog
Approximate

At dawn on May 3, 1870, the migrants entered the mouth of the Daisog River and landed on its left bank — a place they called Barra.
05 Puntod, Lopez Jaena
Approximate

They carved a new home in the vicinity of Barra, now part of Barangay Puntod, and celebrated the first Santacruzan on the new land.
06 Narciso to the present
Approximate

The Santacruzan tradition continued through Narciso "Esok" and his descendants, uniting the Acaac clan in an unbroken annual celebration.
